When Huck encounters the two men on the river who ask if Hucks friend is white or black, Huck silently struggles between following his conscience by turning Jim in, or trusting his loyal heart. Huck knows what will happen to Jim if he turns him in. With Jims fate on his hands, Huck decides to give up tryin (68), and so tells the men that his companion is white. This shows Hucks incredible loyalty and also his ability to put himself in Jims shoes. What would Jim do if the situation were turned around? This question causes Huck to empathize with Jim once again. However, it is the first time that Hucks empathy makes him commit to keeping Jim safe, which shows another step in his moral development. The time in the novel where the reader no longer doubts Hucks morality comes at the climax. Huck has an incredibly important decision to make: turning Jim in or rescuing him from the Phelps. He stands there, holding the letter, faced with the decision between deciding whom to save. If he sends the letter to Miss Watson, he will be free from sin, whereas if he helps Jim escape, he has to be ready to get down and lick (anyones) boots for shame (160). Simultaneously, Huck sees the punishment of Jim in his own mind, he sees how happy Jim could be, and he recognizes his power to give Jim something which Jim has desired his entire life. Hucks empathy is so strong at this point, that combined with his loyalty and true heart, it causes him to rip up the letter with the astounding exclamation, All right, then Ill go to Hell (162). The fact that Huck believes he is giving up his soul for Jims freedom leaves no doubt in a readers mind that Hucks morality has truly developed over the course of the nove l. One last example of Huck empathizing with Jim comes when Jim is so homesick that he is crying and moaning to himself about his far-away children. Huck sees him in this pitiful state and says, I do believe he cared just as much for his people as white folks does for theirn. It dont seem natural but I reckon its so. He was a mighty good nigger, Jim was (117). Huck feels bad for Jim when he sees how horrible it is for Jim to be so far away from home. He even tries to make Jim feel better by talking to him about his family. The moment Huck does this, it is clear that Huck wants to help Huck puts himself in Jims position, recognizes why Jim feels the way he does, and tries to comfort his distraught friend. In all three of these examples, Huck is shown to be empathizing with Jim. His empathy supports the belief that although Huck is racist, he still possesses an enormous capacity to see Jim as a fellow human being the very quality that is needed to start breaking free of racist though t.Despite Hucks decisions that help so many times in leading Jim closer to freedom, Huck forgets all about the right thing to do when Tom is re-introduced into his life. It is clear that Huck sees Tom as his superior with every word spoken. Tom is never wrong according to Huck, and at one point Huck even says, If I had Tom Sawyers head, I wouldnt trade it off to be a duke, nor a mate of a steamboat, nor clown in a circus, nor nothing I can think of (176). Because Huck feels this way about Tom, he never questions Toms outrageous and highly impractical ways of setting Jim free. This is the part of the novel where Hucks empathy and morality fail him, just like they do at the beginning of the book, with the first trick Huck and Tom play on Jim. Huck is easily molded, changing his beliefs to agree with Tom without a second thought. The only times Hucks morality and loyalty ring clear are when he is making his decisions alone, with nothing but the river to guide him, nothing but his heart to show him the way.When reflecting on Hucks character after he finished writing Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain wrote that Huck Finn is a book of mine where a sound heart and a deformed conscience come into collision and conscience suffers defeat. Answers: Introduction Every program and the business plans need continuous improvements to meet the desired objectives. If there are no improvements in the operational delivery, then the company would be stagnant (Male and Wodon 2016). This report would focus on the evaluation process of the operational delivery process. The operational delivery for an organization is taken under consideration whose objective is to reduce the premature marriages in Mozambique (Male and Wodon 2016). The campaign would analyze the target areas of the country and respond to the needs of the local community. This report would analyze the impact of the organizational requirements and the legal requirements which is related with the evaluation process. The three potential areas of conflict are also discussed. The necessary steps to minimize the potential conflicts are also discussed. A particular operational delivery process related to premature marriages is being formulated. The three evaluation tools would be discussed. The c ampaign selected for the purpose of evaluation is Girls Not Brides, which is a national partnership comprising of civil society organizations. 1. Processes for evaluating operational delivery The evaluation program should be integrated with the program operations by focusing on the ongoing, practical monitoring process which would involve all the staffs as well as the stakeholders (Butryn et al. 2016). It should implement a campaign which is aimed for decreasing the instances of child marriages in Mozambique. The process of the evaluation of the campaign is described below- Engagement of the stakeholders- The stakeholders should be engaged which would require the consideration of the value system of different partners (Butryn et al. 2016). There are different kinds of stakeholders that would be involved in the campaign such as coalition partners, sponsors, funding officials, collaborators, staff and the managers. Description of the program- The mission of the program is to address the issue of pre mature marriage so that the girls get a good life. In Mozambique, nearly 1 out of every 2 girls is married before the age of 18 years (Godha et al. 2016). The consequences of this trend are poor health outcomes among the target population. The girls suffer from poor physical health as well as poor mental health. Focus on the evaluation design- The focus of the campaign would be specify the target population and the extent of the prevalence rate (Butryn et al. 2016). The evaluation program would focus on the need, expected effects and the activities related to the campaign. The focus on the evaluation design would also involve purpose, users, questions, methods and agreements related to the campaign. Gather credible evidence- This step would involve the gathering of the analytical data from different primary data sources such as girls, adolescents, family level, community level, social entities such as NGOs, political entities and others (Blackburn et al. 2014). This would help in the determination of the number of premature marriages taking place in the particular region of the country and the frequency of the same. Justification of the conclusion- It is understood that there should be effective delivery of the evaluation process which would involve the standards, analysis, synthesis and the judgments (Butryn et al. 2016). 2. Impact oftwoorganizational requirements The vision of Girls Not Brides Mozambique is to put an end to the child marriage and improves the quality of life of the girls (MacDonald Wong and Sheldon 2015). This is a national strategy of Mozambique. The objective of this strategy is that the organization believes in the principle that the girls have a right to have good quality of life and have a healthy, prosperous future. The priorities of this initiative is to search for the girls who are getting married before their marriageable age and give them protection and justice (MacDonald Wong and Sheldon 2015). The business plans of the movement involve the support through the various agencies, volunteering organizations and others so that the well-being of the girls is being maintained (Ahmed 2015). The various components of the business plan would include the core change idea, defining scope of the project, cost of impact, creating economies of scale, creating business models, adhering to the standards of quality process and organization of the key resources (Ahmed 2015). The requirements of quality assurance would ensure that the evaluation process would be able to analyze the actual program and match it with the program objectives (Sallis 2014). The organization should liaison with the appropriate government authorities to ensure that there are no issues with the organizational compliance. The local gov ernments, ministries should be kept in loop for reviewing the quality of the surveillance program (Ahmed 2015). This would improve the effectiveness of the evaluation process and it would meet the desired program objective. There should be various change initiatives that should be taken for the purpose of effectiveness of the evaluation program (Sallis 2014). The requirements of the program should be amended on a regular basis in order to accommodate the latest program requirements. The evaluation process should include the effectiveness of the program in finding the correct number of girls who are being married off at an early age (Sallis 2014). The rehabilitation program of the girls needs to be amended from time and again. The detailed business plan would comprise of the following steps- There is a need of identifying the main cause behind the early marriage of the girls in Mozambique. The early age marriage is one of the main reasons for school dropout among girls (Delprato et al. 2015). The low level of education and lack of knowledge about the reproductive health makes the girls vulnerable (Sallis 2014). They are often prone to sexually transmitted diseases. The goals of the campaign would be to rescue more number of girls from getting married before the legally permissible age for marriage (Delprato et al. 2015). The objective of the campaign is to provide quality education to the girls so that they can have good quality of life. The action plan of the campaign would be to implement awareness camps in 5 primary schools every month which would be spread across the length and the breadth of the country. The next plan would be to incorporate the goals into the objectives of the logistics team (Delprato et al. 2015). The next step would include the training of the staffs so that they are aware of their job roles. The surveillance mechanism would include mid-review of the program as well as the contribution of each team member involved (Aldy and Pizer 2016). There would be annual appraisal system which would compare the pre-determined objectives along with the output or result gained. The evaluation of the areas of the improvement along with possible suggestions would go a long way in making the plan successful. Twolegal requirements There are legal obligations in Mozambique concerning child marriage. The legal age of marriage in the country is 16, which is to be done after receiving parental consent (Crin.org 2017). The legislation concerning this issue is Family and Law on Protection and Promotion of the Child Rights (Crin.org 2017). The evaluation process should be fulfilled by using the legal procedures of the company. It should also be carried by following the ethical manner. The participants should not be harmed during the process of evaluation process. The data collection process should be done in an honest manner and they should not be fabricated. The Council of the Ministers has approved the National Strategy for the Prevention as well as combating regarding early marriage (Brides 2017). It is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Children, Gender and Social Affairs, which was being developed by inclusive process involving multiple stakeholders (Brides 2017). The strategy would be developed with the help of inclusive process. The evaluation process must be performed in a confidential manner and the results should be maintained in a secure manner. 3. Role ofoneteam memberin the evaluation process One team member of the evaluation process would be the Program Head of the campaign aimed for reducing the instances of premature marriage (Grembowski 2015). His job role would be to plan as well as design the evaluation program. He would be proactively involved in the monitoring of the evaluation process. He is supposed to perform effective quality assurance and manage the budget of the entire program. He would engage in facilitating the recruitment of the team members who would be suitable for the particular campaign. The members should be compassionate about the issue of the premature marriage and they should be actively involved in it (Grembowski 2015). The team member should be able to ensure optimum resource allocation. He should be able to manage the contributions of the third party towards the program. The program head would be the primary person responsible for ensuring smooth flow of communications between the team members (Grembowski 2015). It is important to undertake ade quate risks management strategies for the successful outcome of the evaluation process. The program head would be responsible for the management of all sorts of documentation and the progress reports of the particular project. Role ofonestakeholder in the evaluation process The role of one stakeholder would be the Ministry of Education, who would represent the role of the local government who would be actively engaged in local authorization and implementation of the campaign. It is important to target the local education framework such as primary schools which would be helpful in imparting education. 4. Threeareas of potential conflict during evaluation There can be areas of potential conflict when undertaking the evaluation process of operation campaign (Posavac 2015). The actual persons involved such as the teenage girls and their families may not cooperate with the activists (Posavac 2015). They may hide subsequent amount of data which may prevent the activists to gather actual data. There may be inadequate tools associated with the data collection of data. This may cause data loss or leakage of confidential data. There can be financial conflicts of interest which may result in inadequate funds allocation during the evaluation process. 5. Impact of conflict on evaluation process The nature of the evaluation process may be affected due to the potential conflicts in the workplace (Cooper 2014). The evaluation process would not meet the desires program objective. The mission of reducing the number of premature marriages in Mozambique may not be achieved due to the inadequate program delivery. 6. Steps to minimizeeachpotential conflict The non-cooperation conflict can be resolved by greater awareness among the masses and educating them about the bad consequences of the early marriage (Rubin 2016). There should be adequate selection of tools for the purpose of data collection regarding the campaign. The financial conflicts should be resolved by allocating greater budget for the campaign and looking for additional investors who can invest in the campaign (Rubin 2016). 7. Operational delivery process There can be different types of information needed for the evaluation process to be successful. This information is useful for the successful accomplishment of the program objectives (Rubin 2016). They would also help the activists to gather an in-depth analysis of the current situation. Essay On The Awakening The Awakening Responsibility and Duty as they Relate to The AwakeningMost cultures put heavy emphasis upon responsibility and duty.The culture portrayed in Kate Chopins book The Awakening visibly reflects a similar emphasis.The main character finds herself wanting to stray from her responsibilities and embrace her intense desire for personal fulfillment.Ednas choice to escape shows two elements: rebellion to the suppression of her adventurous spirit and the lack of fulfillment in her relationship.Although she embraces her new found freedoms, she commits suicide at the denouement of the book due to her frustration with the world around her. Many philosophers have dealt with the question of whether to live a life of servitude or to pursue ones greater happiness.Immanuel Kant stipulates that the more people cultivate their reason, the less likely they are to find happiness.Kate Chopins character Edna tries her entire life to fit in the prescribed mold of the women of her time.She invests so much time into duty and responsibility that she loses any happiness that she could hope to achieve.With time, Kant noted, the person who devotes their life to reason finds themselves needing a release, in the end despising reason, and eventually pursuing only their true happiness.
